Interested in the BAC? | Member Login Birmingham Aero Club 2010 Calendar of EventsDinner meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held the third Thursday of each month at the Southern Museum of Flight, 4343 73rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35206. The social hour starts at 6:00 PM with dinner at 7:00 PM. Directions to the Museum may be found in our contact information. Fly-Outs are typically held the fourth Saturday of each month. Information about specific locations and the need for reservations are shown below. Board of Governors meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held the first Thursday of each month at 12:00 Noon at the Southern Museum of Flight. These board meetings address club business issues. While voting privileges are limited to elected board members, all club members are welcome to attend. Lunch is served at these meetings and reservations are required. January 21, 2010 - Dinner Meeting Annual awards presentation February 18, 2010 - Dinner Meeting - Greg Koontz's Flying Experience in South Africa Internationally recognized air show pilot and Birmingham Aero Club member Greg Koontz will discuss his flying experience in the Cedarburg Mountains of South Africa. March 18, 2010 - Dinner Meeting - Bob Jaques and the Doolittle Raiders of World War II March 23, 2010 - Free Safety Seminar - 10 Things OTHER Pilots Do Wrong The Birmingham Aero Club is sponsoring this free AOPA Air Safety Foundation seminar. This will be held at the Southern Museum of Flight's South Hall from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. This event qualifies for credit in both the AOPA Accident Forgiveness program and the FAA WINGS program. April 15, 2009 - Dinner Meeting - Ms. Julie Williams and the story of the Wright Brothers Julie Williams, author of "Wings Of Opportunity: The Wright Brothers In Montgomery, Alabama" will join us in a joint presentation sponsored by the Birmingham Aero Club and the Southern Musuem of Flight. The BAC members will enjoy social time and dinner as usual in the upstairs meeting room at the Southern Museum of Flight. After dinner, the club will move to the South Hall of the museum of hear Ms. Williams' presentation. The public is invited to join the group for the presentation. April 15, 2010 - Dinner Meeting May 20, 2010 - Dinner Meeting June 17, 2010 - Dinner Meeting July 15, 2010 - Dinner Meeting July 29, 2010 - Fly-Out - Flight line reception at Oshkosh! Note that the BAC Fly-Out for July will be Wednesday, July 29. August 19, 2010 - Dinner Meeting September 16, 2010 - Dinner Meeting October 21, 2010 - Dinner Meeting November 18, 2010 - Dinner Meeting December 16, 2010 - Birmingham Aero Club Christmas Party at "The Club" Reservation Policy: Reservations are required for Dinner Meetings. Reservations can be made via E-Mail to information@birminghamaeroclub.org and are required no later than the Monday before the Thursday meeting. Those making reservations who later find themselves unable to attend will be billed for the cost of the function. |
