2007 Calendar of Events
Dinner meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held the third
Thursday of each month at the Southern Museum of Flight, 4343
73rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35206. The social
hour starts at 6:00 PM with dinner at 7:00 PM. Directions
to the Museum may be found in our contact
information. Board of Governors meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held the
first
Thursday of each month at 12:00 Noon at the Southern Museum of
Flight. These board meetings address club business issues.
While voting privileges are limited to elected board members,
all club members are welcome to attend. Lunch is served at
these meetings and reservations are required.

All Seasons Travel will present information on itinerary,
cost, and highlights of this summer’s BAC trip to the United
Kingdom.
March 15, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
Joey “Gordo” Sanders will talk about his victory at the 2006
National Championship Air Races at Reno.
April 19, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
FBI Agent Jerry Melton of the North Alabama Joint Terrorism
Task Force will speak on history leading up to the events of
September 11 and brief us on unclassified happenings since that
time.
May 17, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
SR71 pilot and Alabama native Colonel Ed Yielding will
present on his record setting flight in the Blackbird.
June 21, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
Mr. Jack Sacco will tell the story of his father Joe's
exploits in WWII. Joe landed at Normandy and fought
through much of the remaining campaign in Europe. Jack has
written a book entitled “Where the Birds Never Sing” detailing
the story and will have copies available at our meeting
July 4 - 14, 2007 - Birmingham Aero Club Tour of the
United Kingdom
July 19, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
Mr. Billy Hataway, FAA Aviation Safety Program Manager, will
talk about the revised FAA “Wings” Program.
August 16, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
James F. Tent, Ph.D., Chair, Professor and University
Scholar at UAB will discuss his book "E-Boat Alert - Defending
the Normandy Invasion Fleet".
September 20, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
October 18, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
November 15, 2007 - Dinner Meeting
December 20, 2007 - Birmingham Aero Club Christmas Party
at "The Club"
Reservation Policy:
Reservations are required for Dinner Meetings. Reservations can be made via E-Mail to
information@birminghamaeroclub.org and are required no later
than the Monday before the Thursday meeting. Those making
reservations who later find themselves unable to attend will be
billed for the cost of the function.
